December 2025 will be a good month for those taking exam.  That’s my view which I want to explain below.

There have been two ACCA AFM exam sittings  since the announcement of the change in the exams from Sep 2027 onwards. Both those exams indicated a pattern in my view.

It appears that the examiners may be ‘churning’. Taking questions that they have set in the past and using these as the base the remaining AFM exams that have to be set.

For instance, there was 25 mark ratio analysis question set in June 2025 called GCR.  That surprised a few students as ratio analysis would not be seen that regularly in the exam and a very similar question was set only 12 months earlier.

But,add to the above that there are a bank of questions set in past ACCA AFM exams that have not been published. These can be used, with minor modification in the future papers.

As proof of the latter, there was a corporate reconstruction question that was not published back in 2024 about issues relating to a football club that was likely to breach the league’s PSR.

Based upon that question, I got the idea to write the question ‘Linus FC’ which I used as in my Sep 25 mock exams.  A very similar question appeared in the actual ACCA AFM exam.

Don’t get me wrong, cover the full syllabus during the tuition phase (as I ensure my cohorts do on my online courses).  However, the patterns of recent past exam setting behaviour has influenced the contents of the mock exams that I will use on my ACCA AFM December 2025 revision course.
